Big news, announcements, and whatnot.

After lots of hard work from everyone on the crew I am pleased to announce that the shop has moved. We are now at 705-A W. Rosemary St. Carrboro, NC. It is exactly two doors away from the old shop, and above our local watering hole, the Bow Barr. We have twice the space and now have separate rooms for drawing, piercing and tattooing. Over the next few months we will continue to decorate, but for now everything major is done and we are open for business. Here is how it is looking so far:

Also I got to do this fun reaper on drew last week. We have plans to make it less lonely and fill up the rest of his torso.

And did these horns of Odin on another neighbor of ours who works at the burrito shop. Sorry for the shitty picture.

Finally I drew this for a client who has since decided she wanted something simpler to represent the triple goddess/norns. So this drawing is up for grabs and will go at a good price to whoever wants it:

I love doing this stuff so much. More please.

Locals

I tattooed a couple of local chef/restaurant owners last week. Both got fun tattoos and I was happy with the results. Thanks for looking.

A Good Week.

Got to do two fun tattoos last week. The first is on a local bartender and good dude. The second is on my good customer Madelyn. I've been slowly working on sleeves for her and her partner. This was her first color piece, and I hope to be doing more work in a similar vein on her soon.

Sorry for the shitty picture quality.

Tattoo and Paintings.

Yeah I know I suck at updating. Here are a couple paintings and a fun tattoo I did in the last few weeks.

This is on my good client Brett who is moving to Austin next week. I've had the opportunity to do some really fun work on him over the last year, and I'm bummed to see him go.

Coverups and other fun

Did a couple fun cover-ups this month, one more successful than the other admittedly. This is an area I feel has been lacking in my work, so I am happy to get the opportunity to work on it.
Whippoorwhill covering up text and a heart.

Skull covering a Coop devil girl.

Also did a few other fun ones, and did a large new painting.

Finally, we have new shirts at the shop that I designed. Men's and women's sizes available at the Carrboro shop, $20.

Go to sleep little baby...

Just finished up a siren inspired by the ones in "Oh Brother Where Art Thou." It is one of my favorite movies so needless to say I was excited to do the tattoo.

These days I have pretty much just been wanting to do old grimy prewar and circus flash, and ladies. Hoping I have more opportunities for both soon.

A bunch of random stuff

Damn I have been doing a bad job of keeping this updated. I haven't finished a whole bunch of cool stuff recently, though I started on a few things. Drawings, sketches, progress shots, and other randomness can all be seen at my tumblr: clubandspade.tumblr.com. Also I have been trying to get back into the swing of things with painting. Here are a couple I just finished last week:

Both are ink and liquid acrylic on Arches cold press. Also both are for sale/trade. Email jfunwrecker@gmail.com if interested. Flash sets are also still available.

Here is a colection of little random fun tattoos from the last month:

Also my friends Matt Mebane tattooed my right hand a couple weeks ago. Thanks a ton man, I couldn't be happier.

Thanks for looking, and sorry for the extra long update, I will try to stay more on top of this.

Norman Collins

A couple of fun tattoos based off of some Sailor Jerry flash today. Some of my favorite kinds of tattoos to do; I always look forwards to appointments like this.

Tradition

Couple fun tattoos today. Dave is starting a whole traditional patchwork sleeve based off old Jerry designs. I'm happy to be working with him on it.

Old Gods

Sorry for the lack of updates. I started a couple of big fun pieces in the last couple weeks, and hopefully should finish them soon and have pictures to put up here. In the meantime I finished this little painting:

Original is for sale. Watercolor and ink on 90LB. Arches Cold Press. $50 Shipped in the US or Canada. Paypal: jfunwrecker@gmail.com.

Ride 'em

Tyler came in today and got this fun cowgirl pin-up based on a Gil Elvgren painting. I had a ton of fun with it, and hope to get a chance to do more work on Tyler. This is the sorta shit I would like to do all day. Well that and weirdo occult stuff.

And Wizards...

Update

Prints of the flash set are still available. Paypal $50 ( $45 plus $5 shipping) to jfunwrecker@gmail.com. Email me at the same address with any question or if you need shipping outside the US or Canada as this will effect the shipping costs.

Johnny Davis never let us down...

Got to do this fun little Lucero inspired tattoo today (though with a bicycle's wheel substituted for a motorcycle's). I'm pretty happy with how it came out; I've been trying to go a bit heavier on black and use more restraint with color and I think it shows in this tattoo.

Doom on you

Did this fun little walk-in reaper today. Next time I won't totally obscure the skull the shadow, but nonetheless I was happy to get to do this:

And here's a couple more preview shots of the flash, just (hopefully) to keep you interested:

Suffer not the witch to live.

Another sheet from the set done. Two to go. I am looking forwards to finishing these so that; a) I can start selling prints, b) I can not feel bad about drawing other stuff and c) because I am ready to be done:

Into the End Times...

Happy New Years everybody. Only 11ish months until Ragnarock/Armageddon/Z-Day, if you believe the Mayans/current nut-jobs. So I'll do my part in helping the world along by tattooing as much evil shit as possible in the coming year. Satan, Frost Giants, Cthulhu, Bankers, you name it.

Anyways, enough silliness. Two flash sheets are complete (yeah I know I'm slow) and I am starting the third tomorrow. Here's a little preview:

Sheet 1

Sheet 2

Also My coworker Rob (purveyor of beard knowledge and maker of the world's best bacon) gave me this as a belated Christmas gift. He claims it is the best beer in the world. Tomorrow I'll open it up and see:
